In the design and innovation process, our users’ needs form our starting point. We carefully analyse a person's disorder and disability on the basis of the care requirement, enabling us to identify the relevant functional requirements. The product features are selected to match these functional requirements, so that the seating system offers a guaranteed solution.
Our users
Our user is not able to stand or sit independently without aids.Due to disorders, often caused by a (degenerative) neurological diseasethe user needs intensive help with activities of daily living (ADLs). For example, they need help getting in and out of bed. Users often have an aphysiological and/or asymmetrical seated posture.Physical deformities may also be present, or the user may be at risk of developing these. Besides keeping the user well positioned when sitting, it is important for the chair to be individually adjustable to the contours of their buttocks and back, Thus moulding itself precisely to the body contours.
Due to the loss of body awareness, there is a need for contact with the skin (tactile support) and a sensation of being cradled. A large-area support that surrounds the body is therefore necessary. The contouring of the seat ensures that the user sits in the chair instead of on the chair. This body support prevents unnecessary muscle tension and reduces the stress experienced by the user. In addition, it helps to reduce the development of contracture and improve stamina. Hypersensitivity can cause very painful skin and muscles if the user is incorrectly positioned. The aids used should contribute to avoiding/preventing discomfort, pain stimuli and contraction as much as possible, ensuring the user is more relaxed and can connect with their environment. Thanks to the seating system, the user will no longer be bed-bound, and will instead be able to once more engage in social interaction, eat at the table and, when accompanied, go outside.
Optimal seating comfort
Contouring (sinking effect) of the seat and back cushions. User sits in the chair rather than on it.
Proprioceptive absorbing stimuli and sufficient supporting capacity
Fewer stimuli due to the tactile feedback
Full support thanks to large seat and back support surface
Gentle support that does not chafe the skin
Improved trunk stability
Improved trunk stability through precise and individual buttock and back contour support.
Stimulates muscle relaxation
The seating system can be precisely adjusted to the user's body and adapted to their developing and/or changing posture
Being able to sit well positioned
Suitable for all body postures, including asymmetrical seated postures and bodies
Also helpful in case of pelvic obliquity, kyphosis or a difference in leg length.
Beter kunnen ontspannen
Experiencing a sense of being cradled and feeling secure
Improved stamina due to body's reduced energy consumption
Enjoy more environmental stimuli
Being able to participate again and no longer being bed-bound.Sitting, going outside and eating at the table
